Offering effusive praise for Stageloft Repertory Theater’s current production of William Shakespeare’s “As You Like It,” Worcester Telegram & Gazette reviewer Paul Kolas credited “a wily cast that imbued the play’s clever machinations with an extra measure of playful bonhomie.”
Kolas gave the show a 3 1/2-star rating on the T&G’s 4-star scale.

The comedy, which features an “exceedingly radiant” Julianne McGourty in the pivotal role of Rosalind, was lauded for its fine casting and memorable performances from, among others, Sonya Richards (as Celia), Anne Adams (Duchess Senior), Marie Daley (Duchess Frieda), Sean Gardell (Orlando), Jacob Moore (Oliver) and Seth Leary, as Touchstone.
The second weekend of its three-week run begins Friday at 8 p.m., with additional performances at 8 p.m, Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Ed Cornely is the play’s director, with Gardell filling the dual role of assistant director.
