The cast and crew of Stageloft’s current production of “The Porch” enjoyed a rare opportunity on Sunday, Sept. 21: We were privileged to perform the show in front of the play’s author, Jack Neary.

Neary, ever gracious, took time to chat with “The Porch” cast after Sunday’s sold-out show. He also signed the actors’ scripts and posed for the photo shown above.

Adding to the thrill, Neary quickly posted about his visit to Sturbridge on his Facebook page. “A lovely production of THE PORCH this afternoon at Stageloft,” he wrote. “Thanks, folks!”

Neary, an esteemed actor and playwright, counts “The Porch” among the nearly 40 plays he’s published. Among his many acting credits are appearances in the Ben Affleck film, “The Town,” and hundreds of stage plays.

The Boston-area native is nationally known for “Jerry Finnegan’s Sister,” a play that has been performed across the country and toured overseas in France. Another Neary project, “To Forgive, Divine,” was acquired by Walt Disney Pictures.

Only three performances remain in “The Porch” show run, and Sunday, Sept. 28 is nearly sold out. Reserve your tickets now!
